BENEFITS OF DRIED FRUITS

Various dried fruits should always be present in the diet of people, because they contain a large number of different minerals and vitamins.

WHICH DRIED FRUITS ARE ESPECIALLY USEFUL FOR OUR HEALTH?

PRUNE

This dried fruit has been known since Roman times. It contains a large number of B-group vitamins – these elements normalize the carbohydrate metabolism in the body. Prunes are useful in the treatment of the heart, kidneys and intestines, it also increases resistance to stress and relieves anxiety. Dishes with prune and compotes are recommended to be taken when having gastrointestinal tract diseases. The sugar content of prunes is 38-42 %, however, fresh plums – 9-13%.

DRIED APPLES

They contain a wide range of vitamins – B1, B2, C, A, PP, etc. The best sorts of apples for drying are: Granny Smith, Fuji, McIntosh, Golden Delicious apples. You can dry fruit along with a core and peel, but if you wish, you can remove the core and cut apples into slices. Dried apples contain 40-45% of sugar.

DRIED PEARS

As these trees are very long-lived, in ancient China pear was a symbol of longevity. In addition, pears remove harmful, toxic substances and heavy metals from the body. They also contain fiber, which has beneficial effects on the intestine. Fresh pears has a low percentage of acidity (0.2-0.3%) and a high sugar content (up to 20%). Dried fruits contain up to 36 % of sugar, and about 25% of water. Dry firm pears, cutting them into slices or whole.
