ABOUT CELANDINE (CHELIDONIUM MAJUS)

According to national signs, with the arrival of the swallows, celandine begins to bloom. The process of flowering begins in late spring. In late summer, when celandine pines - swallows fly away. May be that’s why the ancient greeks gave the celandine herb such a name, “chelidonium” means “swallow”.

HOW TO USE CELANDINE

If you shear the plant it starts to emit orange-yellow juice, which is hard to wash out from clothes. But this juice is healing. Celandine is quite poisonous, but in small doses it reduces pain, calms the nerves, expels bile. In large doses, the juice of celandine prevents cell division. Oncologists recommend to use celandine in combination with other herbs for the treatment of tumors. If you use pure juice for a long period of time, it destroys warts and calluses.
