As you know herbs are used not only for medicinal purposes, but also in other fields, for example in culinary. Today we are going to share an interesting and useful information about one of the most popular spices - Herbes de Provence.

Herbes de Provenece - aromatic spice that is widely used around the world.  It  gives unique spicy-tangy taste and incomparable flavor to the dishes. The name of this spicy comes from the word “Provence” - a region in France, which is famous for its aromatic herbs.

Herbes de Provenece are key components of French, Mediterranean and other world cuisines. They are perfectly combined with all types of meat products, fish and also veetable stews. Quite often, Herbes de Provenece are added to various kinds of soups, salads and sauces.

It is recommended to add this spice to fatty foods. At the same time, it makes the taste of diet foods (that should be eaten without salt) rich and incomparable. Sometimes this mixture of herbs can be added to baked goods, for example, potato bread.

Herbes de Provenece are known not only as a fragrant spice, which gives the dish a unique flavor, but also as a very useful product, which contains a large number of active substances: essential oils, resins, tannins, enzymes, organic acids, minerals and vitamins. This spice promotes appetite and improves  digestion.

THE COMPOSITION OF HERBS DE PROVENCE

The composition may be quite different, but the main components are: rosemary, thyme, basil, marjoram, peppermint, sage, oregano, savory and often lavender. These dried herbs are perfectly combined with each other.
